On Saturday, November 17th my office teamed up with the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council, and the Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA for a turkey giveaway in Boyle Heights. We celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday and made sure it was a little brighter for families in the 53rd Assembly District. With the help from various community partners we were able to distribute over 600 turkeys and bags of food to families.
Join me as we celebrate the holidays at several Christmas Parades throughout the 53rd Assembly District.

Thank you Assembly District 53 for entrusting me to continue representing you for the next 2 years in the CA State Assembly. I look forward to continue the work we have done the past four years.
I have introduced Assembly Bill (AB) 2 which will waive tuition fees for the second year of community college. Whether community college is used as a stepping stone to our amazing four-year universities or to apprenticeships and workforce training programs, it is a key component of California’s education framework and should be the cornerstone of a debt-free education.
This year as we celebrate the holidays with our loved ones, please remember to stay safe and be aware of your surroundings. During this time of the year car burglaries are common due to people leaving items in their vehicles. Always remember to:
• Lock It: Lock your vehicle every time you leave it unattended and always lock your valuables in the trunk.
• Hide It: If you don’t have a trunk, hide valuables under the seats, in the glove box, or other compartments within the vehicle.
• Keep It: Personal responsibility is the best prevention to safeguard personal property and to prevent becoming a victim.
