Assemblymember Rodriguez Statement on Pomona Valley Hospital Trauma Center Designation

For immediate release:

“The Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is an enormous asset to our community and its designation as a trauma center is long overdue. For over 25 years and at extreme peril, Pomona residents have had to travel almost 30 miles for access to a trauma care services. In the context of gunshot wounds, traffic accidents, and other serious injuries, every minute can mean the difference between life and death. As an Emergency Medical Technician for over 30 years, I can testify first hand to the importance of Pomona Valley Hospital and the lives that will be saved in the San Gabriel Valley as it converts to a Level II trauma center. I thank all those involved for making this happen and applaud the actions of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.”
