Statement on California’s Hydrogen Priorities
“California is the leader in the nation on climate change policy, from our cap and trade policy to our newly implemented electric vehicle requirements. But to stay competitive and achieve our goals, we need to bring all of our options to the front. I was disappointed to see a lack of investment in our hydrogen fuel infrastructure in the Governors Proposed 2022-23 State Budget. Hydrogen is essential to meeting our ambitious goals and is growing in popularity among Californians.
I recently visited a hydrogen production facility and fueling station located in my District, which highlighted the benefits of this alternative fuel and the significant jobs that support the industry. California should join the rest of the world in preparing for a diversified future by embracing hydrogen and investing in its production here at home in California.”
