Assemblymember Rodriguez Announces Deborah Clifford as 52nd District Woman of the Year for 2022

(Pomona, CA) Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez is announcing his selection of Mrs. Deborah Clifford as the 52nd District Woman of the Year for 2022. An active and well-known member of the community, Deborah is currently president of the Historical Society of Pomona Valley.

“I am honored to have selected Deborah Clifford as this year’s Woman of the Year for the 52nd District. Deborah has been an outstanding member of our community, serving as a teacher for 28 years with the Diamond Bar High School and as President of the historical society since 2018. As a lifeline resident of Pomona I am inspired by her dedication to preserving our city’s history and help in making our region welcoming to all.”

Deborah Clifford is a graduate of UCLA and Claremont Graduate University with an MA in Education. She served as a banker at Security Pacific Banks before transitioning to a high school English teacher at Diamond Bar High School for 28 years. During her tenure at DBHS, she was named teacher of the year twice and was District Teacher of the year one of those times. Since her retirement, she has been very active in The Historical Society of Pomona Valley, serving as President since 2018. She was named Pomona Community Hero at the LA County Fair in 2018 and currently serves as the announcer for the annual Pomona Christmas Parade.

Assemblymember Rodriguez (Twitter) represents the 53rd Assembly District which includes the cities of Chino, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, and Upland. He is Chair of the Assembly Committee on Emergency Management.
