SACRAMENTO, CA – On December 2nd, Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez (D-Ontario) has introduced a bill on human trafficking aimed to increase public safety and protections in the community. Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world where people profit from the control and exploitation of others. It involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to gain some type of labor or sexual acts from those being exploited.
“Human trafficking is an issue that surpasses district lines and state boundaries,” said Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez (D-Ontario). “Human trafficking is a world-wide issue affecting millions every year. Without protections and immediate action, we risk losing more innocent lives to the human trafficking industry that continues to profit off the lives of those affected.”
Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez is committed to do her part to ensure the appropriate resources are provided and that public safety procedures are put in place to reduce the rates of human trafficking in the 53rd Assembly District and in California as a whole.
