Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez Co-Authors ‘Leno’s Law’ to Allow for Smog Exemptions Among Classic Cars

SACRAMENTO, CA – Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez (D-Ontario) has coauthored Senate Bill (SB) 712 (Grove) that allows for classic cars produced before 1976 to be exempted from California smog check laws. “I signed on as a co-author of SB 712 because of the strong cultural significance classic cars - especially lowriders hold in the Latino community,” said Assemblymember Rodriguez. “Lowriders and other vintage vehicles serve not only as artistic expressions, but also as living symbols of heritage and pride. This exemption ensures that this important cultural tradition can continue without the burden of unnecessary inspections.”
