SACRAMENTO – Legislation aimed at reducing a severe backlog at the Department of Motor Vehicles for people desperate to take their commercial driver’s license test was approved in the Assembly Transportation Committee Monday.

“The Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is an enormous asset to our community and its designation as a trauma center is long overdue. For over 25 years and at extreme peril, Pomona residents have had to travel almost 30 miles for access to a trauma care services.
As you may have read in the paper this morning, last night a young boy was killed during a drive-by shooting in Pomona. While the police search for answers, my wife and I extend our deepest condolences to the family.
