POMONA -- Pomona Police Officer Shaun Diamond, who was shot and later died after serving a search warrant related to an outlaw motorcycle gang investigation two years ago, was honored Saturday with a portion of the 10 Freeway being named after him.
The stretch, from the 57 Freeway interchange to Towne Avenue, will now be called the “Pomona Police Officer Shaun Diamond Memorial Highway.” A green highway sign indicating the name of the freeway portion was unveiled at a ceremony hosted by Assemblyman Freddie Rodriguez, D-Chino, who worked toward getting the freeway renamed. The ceremony was held two years to the day of Diamond’s death.
