(Sacramento, CA) – Freddie Rodriguez (D-Pomona) was sworn in today as the newest member of the State Legislature, representing Assembly District 52, which includes the cities of Chino, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, and unincorporated portions of Fontana.
“I am honored to represent my lifelong home in the State Assembly,” said Rodriguez. “My first priority is and always will be job creation locally and statewide. I look forward to serving residents of my community and encourage them to contact me with any legislative questions or concerns.”
Rodriguez has worked in the San Gabriel Valley for over 29 years as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He was elected twice to the Pomona City Council where he helped improve public safety, expanded Neighborhood Watch programs, created new jobs as a result of the economic development projects he championed, and delivered balanced budgets while protecting city services during tough economic times.
While job creation is a top priority for the Assemblymember, Rodriguez will also work to preserve public safety, invest in education and improve transportation throughout the state and within the district.
Assemblymember Rodriguez was joined by his wife, Michelle, his four children and two grandchildren for the swearing-in. The ceremony took place in the Assembly Chamber of the State Capitol at 9:20 AM. The oath was administered by Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez.
