Assemblymember Rodriguez Assigned To Key Legislative Committees

SACRAMENTO- Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez (D-Pomona) announced today that Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez (D-Los Angeles) has appointed him to serve on several influential legislative committees.   Assemblymember Rodriguez was appointed to serve as Chair of the Select Committee on Local Emergency Preparedness and as the Vice Chair of the Joint Legislative Committee on Emergency Management.

Rodriguez will also serve as a member of the committees on Banking and Finance, Budget Subcommittee #5 on Public Safety, Elections and Redistricting as well as the Water, Parks and Wildlife committee.

“I am honored to have received these committee assignments from Speaker Pérez and grateful that I will have an opportunity to utilize my experience as an Emergency Medical Technician to help improve California’s emergency services,” said Rodriguez. “Serving on these committees will enable me to fulfill the promises I have made to my constituents to encourage job creation, grow the economy and preserve public safety.”

Prior to being elected to the State Assembly in September, Rodriguez worked for over 29 years as an Emergency Medical Technician and assisted with relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina.

Rodriguez proudly represents the 52nd Assembly District which includes the communities of Chino, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona and portions of unincorporated Fontana.
