Rodriguez To Host Another Backpack Giveaway

For immediate release:

Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez is partnering with the California Institution for Men in Chino, Echos of Faith World Outreach Ministries and Chino Valley Employees Association to host another backpack distribution event. Free backpacks and school supplies will be given to local school children in grades K-8.

“The Inland Empire is still recovering from the recession and the back-to-school season can be tough financially for many families,” said Rodriguez. “Having proper school supplies creates a productive learning environment. I want to do whatever I can to bring some relief to struggling families and help students gain the tools they need to be successful.”

Backpacks and school supplies are available to children who reside in the 52nd Assembly District. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive a backpack. Parents should bring proof of residency, such as a utility bill, and a current school ID for each child. There is a limit of 2 backpacks per family. Those interested should RSVP to Assemblymember Rodriguez’ District Office at (909) 902-9606 to reserve their backpack.
