Rodriguez Honors Pomona Valley Towing As Small Business Of The Year

For immediate release:

Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez honored Pomona Valley Towing as the Small Business of the Year from the 52nd Assembly District.

Pomona Valley Towing is a family owned and operated business that has been providing emergency towing and roadside services to residents of the Inland Empire for over 50 years. In addition to providing quality service to their customers, Pomona Valley Towing gives back to the community through groups such as the Boys and Girls Clubs, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and our local schools. They are also responsible for purchasing the first K9 police dog for the Pomona Police Department.

“Small businesses are the foundation of our economy,” said Assemblymember Rodriguez. “Pomona Valley Towing has been a staple in Pomona for over 50 years. The Payne family and all of their employees do a wonderful job serving our community and I am thrilled to be honoring them as our Small Business of the Year.”

Founded in 1964 by Charles Edgar Payne, Pomona Valley Towing grew out of Payne’s love and dedication to his community. Before the founding of the company, Payne was known as the man you could call if you were stranded on the side of the road. Charles Payne’s family, including his son Michael who is owner and CEO, continue his legacy at Pomona Valley Towing.

California Small Business Day is an annual celebration to recognize the contributions small businesses make to California. Honorees spend the day in Sacramento where they are awarded by the legislature and participate in small business seminars and workshops. This year’s ceremony took place on Wednesday, June 10th at the Sacramento Convention Center.
