Rodriguez Encourages Constituents To Donate To California Wildfire Relief Effort

For immediate release:

Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez is encouraging residents of the 52nd Assembly District to consider making contributions to the recovery and relief efforts underway to respond to the catastrophic wildfires that have plagued California.

"On Wednesday I had the opportunity to tour some areas affected by the Valley Fire in Lake County," said Rodriguez. "It is hard to put the devastation into words. So many families have lost everything in the Valley and Butte fires. I want to encourage people to donate what they can to help these families as they try to get back on their feet and rebuild their lives."

The Butte fire in Amador and Calaveras Counties began September 9th and has burned over 70,000 acres. The Valley fire has burned 76,000 acres in Lake, Napa and Sonoma Counties since September 12th and is already being called one of the most destructive fires in California's history. The two wildfires combined have destroyed nearly 1,800 homes.

Donations can be directed to any of these organizations:
