Rodriguez Statement On May Revise

For immediate release:

(SACRAMENTO) Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez released the following statement today in response to Governor Brown’s May revisions to the state budget:

“I am pleased to see the Governor acknowledge that we have a persistent homelessness problem and an affordable housing crisis in California. My district, especially the City of Pomona, has been struggling with a homeless epidemic for many years. I am committed to working with my colleagues on the Assembly Budget Committee to craft creative solutions that benefit my community and others like it across the state.

I also applaud Governor Brown’s commitment to securing our financial future. It is important to strike a balance between funding critical programs that serve the people of California and protecting those programs from budget cuts during the next economic downturn. As a member of the Budget Committee, I will be looking to ensure that we deliver an on-time budget that is balanced, practical and addresses the pressing needs facing our state.”

Assemblymember Rodriguez is Chair of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee and the Joint Committee on Emergency Management. He represents the 52nd Assembly District which includes the cities of Chino, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona and portions of unincorporated Fontana.
