(SACRAMENTO)- Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez (D-Pomona) released the following statement today in response to the ongoing fire in the Angeles National Forest near Azusa:
“I am deeply grateful for the work being done by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Arcadia Fire Department, LA County Sheriffs, and all of the agencies working together to extinguish this fire. Their efforts are nothing short of heroic.
While firefighters are working hard to contain the Complex Fire, the air quality in our region will continue to be an issue. Residents should stay indoors as much as possible to avoid respiratory issues that can be caused by the smoke and ash. My office can serve as a resource for community members who want further information on the status of the fire and evacuations.
I also want to urge those in the area with drones to avoid flying them in the area of the fire. The presence of drones can interfere with emergency responders and can cause firefighting aircraft to be unable to fly leading to dangerous situations and prolonging the firefighting efforts.”
Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez represents the 52nd Assembly District which includes the cities of Chino, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona and portions of unincorporated Fontana.
