(SACRAMENTO)- Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez was sworn into his third term in the California State Assembly this afternoon at a ceremony in the State Capitol. Several hundred people were in attendance, including the Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, Secretary of State Alex Padilla, and the other newly elected members of the State Assembly. Rodriquez was joined by this family and friends for the ceremony.
Rodriguez stressed that his top priories for the upcoming legislative session will be the health and safety of people in the 52nd Assembly District, transportation issues on major highways including the widening of the 71 HWY and the extension of the Gold Line, and how public safety agencies can be better supported to do their jobs. Assemblymember Rodriguez has worked hard to bring sensible legislation that protects families and better equips emergency responders and law enforcement with the tools they need to serve communities.
“Thank you for the opportunity to serve the people of the 52nd Assembly District in Sacramento, I am truly humbled.” Rodriguez said. “I am here to not only fight for you but also be the voice for working class families. I hope that you will reach out to me when I can be of service. I encourage you to write a letter, stop by our office or a local event, and give us a phone call. We are here to help find solutions for you.”
Assemblymember Rodriguez is joined by members of his family and friends on the Assembly Floor after taking the Oath of Office, below.
