(SACRAMENTO)- Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez (D-Pomona) this week honored Mr. Frederick Kelly of Chino as the 2017 Assembly District 52 Veteran of the Year in a ceremony at the State Capitol.
“We are lucky to have many dedicated and proud veterans living in the Inland Empire and 52nd Assembly District. Today, I am proud to recognize Mr. Kelly for his service to this country, and his dedication to his community.”
Mr. Kelly was a Master Sergeant in the United State Air Force and served from 1960 to 1984. During his time of deployment, he served all across the world, including Vietnam, Zaragoza, Spain, England, and Taiwan. Mr. Kelly continues as an outstanding veteran who is active in the American Legion Post #299 in Chino, serving as a Vice Commander from 2010-2015. He has volunteered his time in Chino’s Memorial Day Celebration and donates baskets of toiletries and military hats to the Veterans Hospital in Barstow.
Assemblymember Rodriguez is authoring two legislative bills, Assembly Bill 85 and Assembly Bill 95, to improve the lives of veterans across California and the organizations that advocate on their behalf.
