Assemblymember Rodriguez Welcomes Isaiah’s Rock of Chino in Sacramento for the 2022 Nonprofit of the Year Luncheon

(Sacramento, CA) – After two years of honoring nonprofits virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the California Association of Nonprofits was finally able to celebrate California Nonprofits Day in person. Assembly District 52 is proud to honor Isaiah’s Rock of Chino as the district’s 2022 Nonprofit of the Year.

“I take immense pleasure in congratulating Isaiah’s Rock on its selection as the 52nd Assembly District’s 2022 Nonprofit of the Year. Their positive contributions to the success and well-being of vulnerable community members within the district have enhanced the quality of life for these residents in need. Thank you for your selflessness and dedication to your work. It is greatly appreciated,” stated Assemblymember Rodriguez.

Founded by Charleen and David King 30 years ago, Isaiah’s Rock, known to many as the Little Blue House on 7th Street, schedules weekly food and children’s toys distributions every Wednesday and Friday. Isaiah’s Rock also provides warm meals, daily necessities, emergency shelter, and laundry services to people in need. Their services are provided to not only Chino residents but those in the surrounding areas of Pomona, Montclair, and Ontario.

Prior to the pandemic, Isaiah’s Rock provided groceries to anyone in need on Wednesdays and Fridays. When the pandemic struck, it was no longer safe for hundreds of people to gather at the “Little Blue House” at one time to pick up their groceries. Showcasing their passion and dedication to community service, Isaiah’s Rock pivoted and began hosting a drive-through food distribution behind Chino City Hall every Wednesday.

Assemblymember Rodriguez (Twitter) represents the 53rd Assembly District which includes the cities of Chino, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, and Upland. He is Chair of the Assembly Committee on Emergency Management.
