Assemblymember Rodriguez Highlights Allocation of Over $6 Million for the Chino Valley Fire District

For immediate release:

(Sacramento, CA) – Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez (D – Pomona) has successfully allocated funding in AB 102 of the State Budget Act to benefit the 53rd Assembly District significantly. Specifically, the budget includes over $6 million for Chino Valley Fire District.

"As Chair of the Emergency Management Committee and a career first responder, I understand the unique needs of our fire departments and am proud to have championed significant funding to expand and improve CVIFD's response capabilities. The new stations will be an asset to their emergency response," stated Assemblymember Rodriguez.

Of the funding allocated for Chino Valley Fire District, $2.25 million will be used to build Chino Valley Fire District Station 68.

The remaining $4 million will support a 12,000-square-foot fire station project designed to improve response times by housing reserve engines, paramedic squads, ambulances, and emergency supplies for the community. It will serve as an incident command post, safe refuge center, and shelter for wildland fire crews.

"On behalf of the Chino Valley Fire District's Board of Directors, Chief Williams, our employees, and the communities we serve, we are in deepest gratitude for the Assemblymember and Senator's support of our projects from day one. Without our local officials and the support of our community, we would not have achieved the funding necessary to move forward with the District's important capital improvement needs. Here is a perfect example of community and government working hand in hand," added President John DeMonaco, Chino Valley Fire District Board of Directors.

“I am proud to be a part of securing this critical funding on behalf of the Chino Valley Independent Fire District. This project’s importance cannot be overstated as it will ensure that CVIFD has the necessary infrastructure to continue to build on the excellent work they do serving and protecting our community and being a partner to other adjoining agencies,” stated Senator Kelly Seyarto (R – Murrieta).
