Legislative Update: Senate Appropriations Committee Approves Seven Bills Authored by Emergency Management Chair Rodriguez

(Sacramento, CA) – Today, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved seven pieces of legislation authored by Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez (D – Pomona). At this point in the process, Assemblymember Rodriguez has advanced nine bills to the Senate Floor that will be voted on before the end of the legislative session. Governor Newsom has already signed two pieces of legislation from the Assemblymember’s 2023 legislative package.

“I am proud to see my legislative priorities obtain further approval in the State Senate. As Chair of the Emergency Management Committee and a career first responder, I am dedicated to improving preparedness efforts for all Californians. This year’s legislative package works toward that goal,” stated Assemblymember Rodriguez.

Legislation approved today by the Senate Appropriations Committee included:

  • AB 40:         Ambulance Patient Offload Delays
  • AB 97:         Ghost Gun Data
  • AB 250:       SR 83 Relinquishment to Chino
  • AB 474:       TCOs and the Opioids Crisis
  • AB 616:       Medical Group Financial Transparency Act
  • AB 1392:     Hospital Diversity Act
  • AB 1770:     Earthquake Preparedness for All

 

Assemblymember Rodriguez (Linktree) represents the 53rd Assembly District which includes the cities of Chino, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, and Upland. He is Chair of the Assembly Committee on Emergency Management.
